Porsche reveals new 2014 model year 911 Turbo and Turbo S

Porsche is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 911 Turbo with the introduction of the latest and greatest turbocharged models the 2014 911 Turbo and Turbo S. Porsche reveals new 2014 model year 911 Turbo and Turbo S

Both models are fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre six-cylinder engine. In the Turbo it produces 520 hp whilst the engine has been tweaked to produce 560 hp in the S model. Both Turbo models channel the massive power output through Porsche’s PDK transmission then down to the pavement through an all-wheel-drive system.

All that power means that the new Turbo is really quick, how quick? Well 0-100 kms/hour in 3.1 seconds and tops out at 311 kms/hr. The regular Turbo equipped with the Sport Chrono package and its launch control, will clock the 0-100 kms/hr run in 3.2 seconds.Porsche reveals new 2014 model year 911 Turbo and Turbo S

Aside from more power the new Turbo has been engineered for better handling with standard 20 inch wheels, the application of PDCC active anti-roll system, rear wheel steering and an active aerodynamic system. Porsche claims a lap time of under 7 minutes, 30 seconds around the North Loop of the Nürburgring with its standard tires. The last statement is clearly a knock against NIssan who had claimed a faster time around the circuit but reportedly used track tires for the run.

Look for the new models to arrive in Canada sometime in December 2013 but all that performance won’t come cheap.
Pricing starts at $169,200 for the Turbo and $206,600 for the Turbo S.
